Quetzal Season Birdwatching Tour in Curicancha Cloud Forest

3 hours

Easy

The Curicancha birdwatching tour provides an excellent opportunity to see unique tropical bird species with a local guide.
This seasonal birdwatching experience (January–July) takes place in the Curicancha Reserve, one of the top locations in Monteverde to observe the Resplendent Quetzal in its natural cloud forest habitat. The tour is thoughtfully designed by a specialized local naturalist guide, using carefully selected trails and timing to maximize wildlife activity and increase the chances of spotting quetzals and 30–40 bird species during a single walk.

Operated in small groups for a more personal and immersive experience, the tour is ideal for birdwatching, photography, and learning. A high-definition spotting scope is included, allowing detailed close-up views of birds and wildlife that would otherwise be difficult to see. This is more than a walk—it’s a focused, educational wildlife experience in one of Costa Rica’s most iconic ecosystems.
